The opportunity

From scattered money signals to a confident next step

One view for cash flow and investing. Nesba connects income, spending, surplus, risk, and managed investing across linked accounts.

People first see what came in, what went out, and where it happened. Then they can decide what to invest.

The product stays approachable while keeping consent, risk, and identity explicit.

The market signal: access is growing. Confidence still has to be designed.

2 in 3adults worldwide made or received a digital payment in 2021 — a global signal that digital finance can be a doorway to broader financial services.
94.4%of investment portfolios in Saudi Arabia were opened through e-KYC in 2022, according to the Financial Sector Development Program.
AIS + PISSaudi open-banking standards cover account information and payment initiation, making consent-led account connection a core product concern.
RTL-readyLocalisation is structural: language, hierarchy, direction, and identity flows must work together—not as a late translation layer.

The home screen acknowledges the investor’s starting point

A zero state explains what is missing, why an investor profile matters, and what changes after it is complete.

Income and spending share account colours. A signed total sits inside each donut chart; the current month is the default, with past and custom ranges available.

Once ready, home shifts to portfolio value and the next useful action.

Discovery without the noise of a trading terminal

Investing is separate from daily transactions. Search, categories, and curated portfolios support exploration while recommendations stay central.

Risk is presented as a choice, not market theatre.

Identity is a product state, not a background check

Nafath-verified names stay protected. Changing a phone number clearly triggers re-verification.

Recommendations are a visible preference. Investors can edit or opt out; everyone else sees a clear invitation to enable them.

That makes regulation legible and supports Arabic/English and RTL from the start.

Design direction

Palette, hierarchy, feedback

I tested how much structure Nesba needed to feel trustworthy without becoming heavy.

The final direction uses colour for meaning, then lets spacing and type do the rest.

Nesba palette exploration and UI directions
Colour carries the state. Space carries the hierarchy.

Reflection

Financial confidence is built across the whole journey

The work was not about making investing look simpler than it is. It was about giving a person enough context to act: a clear financial picture, an explicit identity state, a visible risk language, and recommendations that arrive at the right moment.

Market figures are included to frame the design context, not as measured product outcomes. This case study does not claim performance or conversion results that have not been documented.
